The Eighteen Neck Points

The eighteen neck points, pertaining to eight meridians, are CV 22 (Tiantu), CV 23 (Lianquan), ST 9 (Renying), ST 10 (Shuitu), ST 11 (Qishe), ST 12 (Quepen), LI 17 (Tianding), LI 18 (Futu), SI 16 (Tianchuang), SI 17 (Tianrong), TE 16 (Tianyou), TE 17 (Yifeng), GB 12 (Wangu), GB 20 (Fengchi), BL 10 (Tianzhu), GV 14 (Dazhui), GV 15 (Yamen) and GV 16 (Fengfu).
The Magic Pivot explains where qi of six yang meridians roots in (Gen), runs to (Liu), infuses into (Zhu) and (Ru)moves in are called “Gen, Liu, Zhu, and Ru”. Qi moves to (Ru) the neck. Qi roots (Gen) and ends (Jie) in 6 points: ST9 (Renying), LI 18 (Futu), LI 17 (Tianding), SI 16 (Tianchuang), TE 16 (Tianyou) and GV 16 (Fengfu). The twelve meridians travel through ST 12 (Quepen). ST 9 (Renying) is the sea of qi. CV 22 (Tiantu) lies on the suprasternal fossa. LI 17 (Tianding) and LI 18 (Futu), in the middle of pathways, are associated with throat and neck in the upper position and with shoulder, arm elbow and wrist in the lower position. GB 20 (Fengchi) and GV 16 (Fengfu) are points for dispelling wind and can eliminate both internal wind-cold and wind-heat and calm internal liver wind and wind in the brain. GV 14 (Dazhui) is a crossing point of yang meridians and is used to cure cold and heat conditions.
Neck-arm extra point is 1 Cun superior to the point which is at one third of medial collarbone and two thirds of lateral collarbone, and at the boarder posterior to clavicular head of sternocleidomastoid muscle. Inserting needle 0.5-1.5 Cun into the point can treat hemiplegia numbness syndrome of arms.
According to Dr. Weibin Gao, a point 1.5 Cun posterior to the GB 20 (Fengchi) can promote blood supply to the brain and thus treat cerebro-vascular diseases and vertigo.当前客服:小岐
