英国中医药学会【ATCM】

英国中医药学会(ATCM)成立于1994年10月的中医专业团体。经过20年的发展，目前已发展成为了全英最大的中医师行业自律组织，现有会员750余人。

英国中医药学会成立的主要目的和宗旨包括：

1. 促进传统中医药在英国的宣传，普及和发展；

2. 规范中医行业的执业行为，处理公众投诉，确保并不断提高执业中医师的服务标准

3. 为会员提供相关的行业信息，努力争取和维护会员的相关权益；

4. 为会员提供中医药专业的继续教育，促进学术交流，提高会员的专业水平和临床技能；

5. 促进和规范中医药教育标准。

自1994年至今的20年以来，学会一直致力于自身的发展和规范化管理。学会的管理和决策机构为理事会，理事会成员共有7名，其中包括会长，副会长和秘书长。理事会下设有7个专业委员会分别由理事会理事负责管理运行。专业委员会包括：

1. 教育委员会

2. 学术委员会

3. 执业操守纪律委员会

4. 公共关系委员会

5. 杂志编辑委员会

6. 会员资格审核委员会

7. 科研委员会

理事会成员由全体会员选举产生，每两年换届选举一次。所有日常事务以及理事会的决策都将交由学会办公室进行实际操作和处理。学会办公室负责处理日常事务，应对公众咨询。

英国中医药学会会员分布在整个英国，为管理方便，学会总部设在伦敦，同时设有7个地区小组：

1. 大伦敦及英格兰东南地区

2. 英格兰东部地区

3. 伯明翰地区

4. 曼彻斯特地区

5. 英国西南地区

6. 苏格兰地区

7. 北爱尔兰地区

学会每年在10-11月间举行年度会员大会，理事会向会员提供年度工作报告。学会总部每年举办两次学术活动。各地区小组定期举办小组活动以便促进会员间的学术交流和信息沟通。

The Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture UK (ATCM) is a professional organization founded in October 1994 by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Practitioners in the UK. After 20 years development, ATCM has become the biggest Self-regulated organization of TCM practitioners in the UK, and currently there are over 750 TCM practitioners registered with ATCM. 

The main purpose of the ATCM includes:

1. To promote and develop traditional Chinese Medicine in the UK

2. Regulating the professional conducts of TCM industry, and dealing with public complaints to ensure the excellence in the practice of TCM.

3. Updating members with industry information, and protecting its members’ best interests.

4. Providing continuing profession education for its members and promoting academic exchanges to improve members’ professional and clinic skills.

5. Promoting proper professional qualifications and the highest standards in the profession.

In the past 2 decades since 1994, ATCM has committed to the development and professional management of the organization. The ATCM Council is the decision-maker, and it has 7 council members, which includes president, vice president and General Secretary. There are seven Committees affiliated to the Council, and the council is responsible for the management of these committees. The affiliated committees are:

1. Education Committee

2. Academic Committee

3. Professional Conduct Committee

4. Public Relation Committee

5. Editorial Committee

6. Admission Committee

7. Research Committee

The council members are elected by all ATCM members, and the term is 2 years. So every 2 years on the ATCM AGM, we will hold a general election for our council members. All decisions and policies made by the council are operated and executed by ATCM office. Meanwhile, ATCM office also deals with ATCM routine business and public enquiries.

The head office of ATCM is located in London. As ATCM members cover all parts of the United Kingdom, so we have set up 7 regional groups for members, these regional groups are:

1. Greater London and South East Regional Group

2. East Anglia Regional Group

3. Midlands Regional Group

4. North England Regional Group

5. South West Regional Group

6. Scotland Regional Group

7. Northern Ireland Regional Group

ATCM holds its Annual General Meeting (AGM) between Octobers and Novembers each year. During the AGM, ATCM council members will deliver their annual reports to members. In order to promote academic exchanges and communication amongst its members, ATCM head office and council organize 2 academic events each year in London, and its regional groups hold regular professional events in different regions respectively each year as well.
